The All India UCO Bank Pensioners’ Federation has circulated a notice dated 1 November 2026 saying that outstanding original claim papers and replies to queries relating to the 2025–26 medical-insurance policy should reach the third-party administrator by 28 February 2027. The deadline is attributed to Health Assist Insurance TPA; the underlying TPA instruction was not independently obtained.
What the federation has told pensioners
A notice appearing on the UCO Bank Pensioners’ Association, West Bengal website and signed by All India UCO Bank Pensioners’ Federation general secretary Subrata Sarkar is dated 1 November 2026. It relays a deadline attributed to Health Assist Insurance TPA Pvt. Ltd. for outstanding documents under the 2025–26 medical-insurance policy.
The notice gives 28 February 2027 for submitting original claim documents and responses to queries raised by the third-party administrator (TPA). It is relevant to retirees or eligible insured family members who already have claims or unresolved document requests from that policy period.
Which policy year does the message concern?
The message expressly names policy year 2025–26. It must not be confused with the separate 2026–27 renewal process or treated as a reopening of enrolment. The federation’s earlier notices identify 1 November 2025 to 31 October 2026 as the 2025–26 insurance period. A claim arising under that policy and the period for furnishing documents are separate matters.
The message does not say that claims arising outside the applicable policy dates become covered, that an expired policy has been extended, or that the TPA will approve every submission received before the stated date.
What should a pensioner with an outstanding claim check?
- Identify the exact policy year, the insured member and the claim/reference number from existing legitimate TPA correspondence.
- Check whether original bills, discharge papers, prescriptions or other documents have actually been requested for that specific claim. Do not assume every claim needs the same documents.
- Review any written TPA deficiency or query notice and respond through the verified channel stated in that notice.
- Retain dated acknowledgement or tracking proof for documents submitted. If unsure, ask the bank’s recognised pension/mediclaim desk or the TPA using previously verified contact details.
- Do not send medical records, identity documents, account numbers or one-time passwords to unsolicited links, messaging groups or unknown callers.
Important verification and coverage limits
This is a pensioners’ federation communication reporting TPA advice, not a TPA circular independently inspected by Branch Wale. No signed underlying communication from Health Assist Insurance TPA, insurer endorsement or bank-issued clarification fixing this date was obtained during this review. Affected pensioners should confirm the deadline and any claim-specific time limits in their own policy, TPA notice and bank instructions.
The federation’s public message does not state whether all categories of claims, earlier repudiated cases or claims under other insurance arrangements are covered by the reported deadline. It should not be used to override an individual policy condition or a formal claim decision.
Why this matters for retired bankers
Unanswered claim queries and missing original papers can prevent reimbursement files from progressing. A retiree who keeps a clear record of the specific query, documents provided and confirmation received is better placed to obtain an accurate status update. The key action is to resolve genuinely pending documentation, not to make a fresh insurance application using an old-policy notice.
