SBI Invites Applications for 77 Security and Fire-Safety Specialist Officer Vacancies

Two recruitment notifications, one common application period

State Bank of India has placed two separate regular Specialist Cadre Officer recruitment notices on its official careers portal. Advertisement CRPD/SCO/2026-27/28 covers Manager (Security) and Deputy Manager (Security), while advertisement CRPD/SCO/2026-27/29 covers Assistant Manager–Engineer (Fire). Both notices specify online registration and fee payment from 4 November to 25 November 2026. Their vacancy counts add up to 77, but the posts, qualifications and examination patterns must not be mixed up.

Posts and officer scales

The advertised vacancies are provisional and may change with actual staffing requirements. The notices permit posting anywhere in India.

Security recruitment: experience in armed or paramilitary forces

For the security posts, applicants need a recognised graduation degree and specified commissioned or paramilitary officer experience. The Manager (Security) route includes officers not below Major in the Army or equivalent armed-forces rank with at least 10 years of commissioned service, or a Deputy Commandant-level paramilitary officer with at least 10 years of officer service. The Deputy Manager (Security) route includes officers not below Captain or equivalent with at least five years of commissioned service, or an Assistant Commandant-level paramilitary officer with at least five years of service as an officer. The unreserved age band in the notice is 25 to 40 years as at 31 October 2026, subject to stated relaxations.

Fire officer recruitment: technical qualifications

The 17 Assistant Manager–Engineer (Fire) positions require one of the specified fire engineering, fire technology, safety engineering or recognised fire-services qualifications, together with the applicable experience. The notice differentiates a minimum two-year relevant fire-safety experience route for specified degree holders from a three-year Station Officer or equivalent route for certain fire-service qualifications. The published age band is 21 to 40 years as at 31 October, with applicable relaxations. A general graduation degree alone is not presented as sufficient for this post.

Different examination structures

Both notifications provide for an online test followed by an interview. The security examination has Reasoning Ability, English Language, General Awareness and Professional Knowledge sections; only Professional Knowledge marks count toward the written-test merit component, subject to qualifying the other sections. The fire-engineering examination lists English Language and Professional Knowledge. Each notice explains its own test weightages and document requirements. Applicants should follow the document for the post they intend to seek.

Why bank employees should notice

These roles cover periodic branch security audits, safety reviews, staff drills, fire prevention, evacuation training and liaison with public authorities. Recruitment is therefore relevant to branch safety arrangements and specialist staffing across SBI’s network. The notices announce vacancies and job responsibilities, not confirmation that new officers have joined or that branch safety procedures have already changed. Existing bank employees should not treat the advertisements as internal promotion notifications.
